New York City's Democratic socialist mayor, Zohran Mamdani, took aim at the media and former New York leaders during his first Inner Circle dinner. He compared his relationship with Democratic Gov. Kathy Hochul to a past governor-mayor feud, and compared his administration to that of Andrew Cuomo and Bill de Blasio. Mamdan also targeted the New York Post (NYP) for having a permanent reporter stationed outside his parents' home in Uganda. The event, which has been held since 1923, was part of the 103-year-old tradition of the gala.
