The 73rd Sydney Film Festival has revealed its initial slate of 13 films, with an early look at what festivalgoers can expect. The event will run from June 3-14 in Sydney, with Australian stories leading the local contingent. Selina Miles' "Silenced" follows lawyer Jennifer Robinson and survivors of the defamation law and the #MeToo movement. Other films include "In the Valley," a portrait of rural life in Kangaroo Valley, and "Dead Man's Wire," a recreation of a 1977 hostage standoff. Other notable titles include "Broken English," "Silent Friend," and "The Blood Countess".
