The process that led to two coaching resignations in Lakeville South and Buck Kochevar, led to the resignations of both girls hockey and boys hockey coaches. About 30 parents and students attended a school board meeting to support Blake Nicols, who resigned as the school's girls basketball coach last week at the district's request. His resignation came one day after Lakeville North boys hockey coach Buck Kokevar resigned. Maddie Wolkow, a former two-time basketball captain for Lakeville S, criticized the process the district used to investigate Nicols for being unbalanced and incomplete. Joe McCarney, who has two daughters in the youth basketball program, said the decision was made in a vacuum and did not adequately seek out or weigh the perspectives of those most impacted. The school district has not publicly stated why Storm and Nicols were investigated.
