Xcel Energy is set to increase its natural gas bills for North Dakota customers starting April 1. The increase reflects critical investments made since 2023, including improvements to peaking plants, pipeline integrity, and natural gas meters. For a typical residential customer, the interim increase adds about $8.41 to the monthly bill. If the full increase is approved, that figure could rise to more than $10 per month. A formal hearing on this is expected in late 2026. Xcel also plans to apply a refund in the form of a one-time credit with interest on customers' bills.
