The Vermont Humane Society and Veterinary Services of the United States (ASP) helped rescue nearly 60 mistreated huskies from unsanitary conditions inside a barn in Hyde Park. The dogs were found covered in urine and some were kept in short chains or kennels, with no food or water and some of the dogs underweight and dehydrated. The rescue took place in an undisclosed location, with Vermont's Animal Welfare Division coordinating resources and assisting with the rescue. The animals are now being transported to a recovery center in Ohio. An animal cruelty investigation is underway, with charges pending.
