Gunman Who Shot UWS Ex-Boss Gets Prison Sentence: Prosecutors

Eduardo Diaz, 44, has been sentenced to 15 years in state prison for shooting his former boss on the Upper West Side in a broad daylight attack that spilled onto a busy street. Diaz had been fired months prior to the attack and sent threatening text messages to his former employer, Lincoln Business Machines, before the attack. The confrontation escalated when Diaz pulled out a gun and attempted to fire, but the weapon jammed. He then opened fire on the victim, striking him multiple times and injuring him. After fleeing the scene, Diaz was arrested the following day and charged with attempted assault.
