Boys & Girls Clubs’ flag football team wins regional title, national shot

The Boys & Girls Clubs of Fresno County's flag football team recently won the 49ers NFL FLAG Regional Tournament, earning a trip to Indiana to compete in the national championships. The team, consisting of 10- and 11-year-olds from different clubs, had only been practicing for two months prior to the tournament. Coach Ron Zisler, who also serves as director of operations for the Boys & Boys Clubs, led the team to the championship and win. The trip to Levi's Stadium was funded by a grant provided by the Toyota Foundation. The club also received a $90,000 law enforcement grant for the next three years after the team's victory. The success of the team has attracted attention from local community and parents, with some players seeing their academic performance and behavior significantly improved.
