Local businesses across the Fresno area have marked Earth Day with sustainability initiatives and community efforts. The events, which began in 1970, focus on recycling, reducing and reusing. Fashion Fair celebrated Earth Day alongside Fresno State’s Earth and Environmental Sciences department at a family-friendly event. The Visalia Farmers Market will observe Earth Day on April 25 with a yoga class, live music, pop-up vendors and a clothing exchange. The Earth Day Block Party was held at Fresno City College and was attended by youth group Madera Youth Leaders.
