Michael Diedrich, a Fargo man, has been sentenced to 40 years in prison for the stabbing death of Ethan Larson outside a south Fargo bar nearly two years ago. Diedrich will first serve 24 years and six months in the North Dakota Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation, followed by five years of supervised probation. He also received credit for 728 days already served. The court also ordered more than $21,700 in restitution, with additional payments remaining open for 30 days.
