Richmond man convicted of felony under new sex buyer law

Demarcus Kelly, a 37-year-old Richmond man, has been convicted of a felony under a new law that allows for the arrest of a buyer who induces a minor to engage in commercial sex through trafficking. This conviction is the first under the law. The minor was 16 when she allegedly had sex with him. The judge sentenced him to 180 days in county jail and two years of formal probation.
