Ursuline College, founded in 1871 by the Ursuline Sisters of Cleveland, will hold its final commencement as an independent institution on May 3 at the Wolstein Center in Cleveland. The college will remain in Pepper Pike, Ohio, and will be known as the Ursula College Campus of Gannon University. The ceremony will be presided over by Ursulaine President David King, who served as the college’s first male president and its final president. The merger was announced at a time when smaller colleges and universities were closing due to financial difficulties. The merged schools will continue to operate under a Catholic educational system while preserving their identities and heritage.
