Trump rips Supreme Court over birthright citizenship, tariffs

President Donald Trump has criticised the Supreme Court over its ruling against his tariffs and its reluctance to strike down birthright citizenship. He suggested that the court should use its powers of common sense for the good of the country. This follows a year when Trump issued an executive order attempting to block the children of immigrants and temporary visitors from obtaining birthright membership. Conservative pundit Mark Levin argued that the 14th Amendment only applies to the offspring of a United States citizen or a lawful permanent resident. However, for 125 years, the country has interpreted this interpretation as the law of the land.
