Viz Media has secured North American and international streaming rights for the anime adaptation of Rumiko Takahashi's "Mao," set to premiere on Hulu in the US and Disney+ across Canada, Australia, New Zealand and Latin America on April 4. The series will also be broadcast on NHK General TV in Japan, where Hulu Japan will also stream it from April 5. The anime adaptation is produced by Sunrise and announced last July by Bandai Namco Filmworks. The rights cover TV, home video, electronic sell-through and video-on-demand across North America and New Zealand. The show is part of the celebration of publisher Shogakukan's centenary.
