100-Foot Tree Crashes Down on Pickup Truck, but Everybody Inside Survives: ‘They Were Extremely Lucky’

Three people were taken to the hospital after a 100-foot pine tree came down on their vehicle in the Leominster State Forest, Massachusetts. The incident occurred around 7 a.m. local time on Monday, April 13. The driver and two passengers were transported to UMASS Medical Center in Worcester, where they received leg injuries. The owner of New Era Paving, Ruzbin Martinez, said the three were employees and were headed to work at the time of the incident. As a result, a fire also broke out. The road was closed to remove the tree and the truck, but has since been reopened.
