Rebecca Hessel Cohen, founder of LoveShackFancy, hosted a lavish bat mitzvah for her 12-year-old daughter, Scarlett, at the Plaza Hotel in New York. The event, which included seven different dresses and a custom pearl-embroidered Torah cover and tallit, was seen as "over the top" by some critics. Cohen, whose brand is valued at over $360 million, spared no expense, transforming the hotel’s historic ballroom into “Club Cohen” complete with confetti, a DJ, and a five-tier cake. The extravagant event sparked speculation about the cost of the event. Other notable batmitzvahs include a $10m celebration for David H. Brooks, the former CEO of DHB Industries, and an extravagant New York-themed celebration for their daughter, Emma Horev, in Florida.
