Marty Haws, a former BYU star, is building a national powerhouse at Anthem Prep in South Jordan, Utah, a private nonprofit school that is only in its third year playing basketball. In his third season coaching, he will take Anthem Prep's team to the Grind Session World Championships in Bowling Green, Kentucky, where they will play against No. 3 seed Bella Vista Academy. The team's record is 29-7, with players from Africa including Rooney Bagayoko from Mali and William Makoi from South Sudan. Over half of Anthem’s team is from Africa, with over half of them coming from Africa. The school's leading scorer is 18.2 points per game, and its best young player is 6-8 guard Kiir Majok, who recently joined The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
