A 20-year-old man threatened an attack on a high-speed train in western Germany, injuring 12 passengers with firecrackers. The incident occurred on a train travelling from Cologne to Frankfurt and took place in the town of Siegburg near Bonn. The man threw pyrotechnic objects filled with plastic pellets onto the train. Some passengers suffered acoustic trauma and minor skin injuries. The suspect was taken into custody and is currently being held by police. The motive for the incident is under investigation.
