British teenager, Rubie Boyton, has been left unable to walk or talk for two years after doctors dismissed her seizures as anxiety and didn't do any testing. One day in 2024, she collapsed at a park and was airlifted to King's College Hospital in London and placed in a medically induced coma. Tests revealed that she had a rare heart rhythm condition called catecholaminergic polymorphic ventricular tachycardia, which can cause fainting, seizures and sudden cardiac arrest in otherwise healthy people. Despite this progress, her parents have left their jobs to focus on her recovery. They are hopeful that her condition will improve and have begun regular treatments for her treatment.
