Department of Defense works to reinstate service members who refused COVID-19 vaccine

The Department of Defense is working to reinstate service members who were "unjustly discharged" under the Coronavirus Disease 2019 Vaccine Mandate. The taskforce will review the records of these individuals for evidence that they negatively impacted their careers. As of April, nearly 170 service members have been reinstated or re-evaluated, and over 800 have expressed interest in returning to service. The creation of the taskforce is part of a broader effort to restore confidence in the military.
