Google's AI chatbot, Gemini, may be adding a "branching" feature to its standard Claude chat interface, allowing users to create a new chat from any point in the conversation without losing the original thread. The feature was discovered in a recent build of the Gemini app and is currently undergoing some tinkering to enable it. This allows users to explore different AI options suggested by the AI without losing their original chat thread. Neither Claude nor Gemini currently offer native branching features.
