The Academy Awards will be moving from the Dolby Theater on Hollywood Blvd. to the Peacock Theater downtown Los Angeles in 2029. This move aligns with the announcement last year that the show would be broadcast via YouTube instead of ABC. The new theater is part of LA Live, a largely commercial area centered around Crypto.com Arena, which is about eight miles away. The move is seen as a surprising break from tradition, but it may increase excitement for the next two Oscars.
