The Deerfield Park District board has appointed Laura McCarty as its new executive director, effective April 1, 2026. McCarty has served as interim executive director and has worked for the district since 2019, most notably as director of recreation. She has nearly seven years of experience with the Deerfield agency and 28 years in the parks and recreation profession. The district credits McCarty's leadership in recreational programming, facilities, community engagement and operations.
