At least three people were killed and 14 others were injured in a mass shooting at a bar in Austin, Texas, according to authorities. The gunman was also killed in an exchange of fire with police. The Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) Joint Terrorism Task Force has joined the investigation into the incident, which officials believe indicates a potential nexus to terrorism. The suspect, identified as Ndiaga Diagne, a naturalised American citizen born in Senegal, was identified as 53 years old and had arrived in the United States in 2006 and became a citizen in 2013. The FBI is working closely with the Austin Police Department to investigate the incident. The shooting occurred at Buford's, a beer garden located in Austin's entertainment district. US Senator Ted Cruz said authorities don't know if the shooting was related to terrorism, and the Office of the Director of National Intelligence is coordinating with the FBI to assess any potential foreign ties.
