Oklahoma is under an enhanced risk for severe weather with a threat of tornadoes and strong winds. A severe thunderstorm watch remains in effect for western Oklahoma until 11 p.m. Tuesday, but it is expected to increase as the weather threat increases. The potential for tornadoes, hail, and winds could also threaten the Oklahoma City metro. The tornado index is a four-on-a-10 scale for central and western Oklahoma. The threat for damaging winds is also expected to reach up to 80 mph in western Oklahoma and up to 70 mph in Oklahoma City. KOCO 5's reliable weather forecasts have been certified by the state's First Alert Team.
