A desert community in Arizona reached 110 degrees on Thursday, breaking the highest March temperature in the United States. The record was set outside Martinez Lake, Arizona, in the Yuma Desert. This comes as a winter heat wave continues to scorse the Southwest. The National Weather Service noted that the average first 105-degree day of the year usually occurs on May 22th.
