A jury has found Cedric Rashad Davis Jr, 22, not guilty of first degree murder and eight other charges related to a triple shooting in 2022 outside the Portsmouth Sportsplex. The shooting left one boy dead and another boy and a man wounded from gun shots. The prosecution used the testimony of one victim, Marcellus Whitehead, to connect Davis to the crime. Whitehead claimed that Davis directed his attackers to go after Whitehead and the two teens. The jury deliberated for two hours before returning a verdict of not guilty.
