The 19th annual Essence Magazine's Black Women in Hollywood Oscars event will take place on Mar. 12 at the Fairmont Century Plaza Hotel in Los Angeles, with the theme "Off Script" being celebrated for its portrayal of the women behind "Sinners," which is nominated for 16 Oscars. Other notable events include a star-studded afterparty and fashion show at the Sofitel Los Angeles at Beverly Hills, with attendees including Eric Roberts, Golden Brooks, and Miguel Nunez. The alleged shooter, Ivanna Ortiz, was previously arrested in Florida and charged with attempted murder.
