The World Food Policy Organisation (WFP) estimates that an additional 45 million people could be pushed into acute hunger if the Iran war continues through to June, according to an analysis by the organization. This is due to rises in food, oil and shipping costs, pushing the global total to exceed the current record-breaking 319,000. The World Food Programme's Deputy Executive Director, Rosanne Jones, stated that the rising tide of the conflict could exacerbate the issue.
