Nicolas Cage, executive producers and Spider-Verse writing duo Phil Lord and Chris Miller, revealed that Cage had a specific idea for his portrayal of Spider-Noir in the upcoming Prime Video series. He wanted to play his 1930s superhero detective, Ben Reill, like a "spider pretending to be a person" who studies his character in relation to the movies. The series will premiere on MGM Plus in the US on May 25 before being globally on May 27.
