Prosecutors from Jeannine Pirro, the U.S. Attorney for the District of Columbia, made an unexpected visit to the Federal Reserve's headquarters construction site in downtown Washington. The move comes as the Justice Department's investigation into testimony given by Jerome Powell about the Fed's renovation project is losing steam. A ruling by Judge James Boasberg, the chief judge on the U., had blocked the subpoenas Pirro's office had served on the Fed, stating that there is no evidence to suspect Powell of a crime. The visit could further complicate the Senate confirmation process for Kevin Warsh, President Donald Trump's nominee to succeed Powell.
