The prospect, who turned 19 on March 7, was signed for $800,000 out of the Dominican Republic and played in rookie ball. Despite being a teenager, Pluto noted that he felt like he knew how to play well enough. In 2025, Fernandez posted a.326 batting average with a.908 on-base plus slugging percentage across 50 games.
