Roku has rolled out a dedicated Search tool within the Live TV Guide, a major free feature users requested. The move comes as the free ad-supported streaming TV (FAST) market continues to grow at a rapid rate, outpacing traditional subscription services. The growth rate is 14.7% and global FAST revenue is expected to reach $12 billion by 2027. Over half of FAST programming was produced in the last five years, compared to only about 33% on premium subscription video on demand platforms. The company expanded its free streaming library with 17 new live channels, including CNN Xpress and Canada TV. The expansion also added niche channels focused on wellness, Spanish-language comedy, and action films.
