Google has announced new updates to its Performance Max campaign type, focusing on providing advertisers with more control over who campaigns are prioritizing and better visibility into where their budget is going. These updates include first-party audience exclusions, budget reporting, expanded audience reporting, and placement reporting segmented by network. The budget report can be found directly within a Performance Max Campaign and can provide scenarios on how changing the daily budget impacts potential performance. The audience reporting also includes more detailed demographic and segment-level performance views, giving advertisers more context around who campaigns actually reaching. The updates are not groundbreaking but are a step towards making Performance Max more workable in account management.
