Apple Music Raises Streaming Subscription Prices for First Time in Nearly Four Years

Apple Music has increased its subscription prices for the first time in nearly four years. The price for the individual plan rose from $10.99 to $11.99 per month, while the family plan increased from $16.99 and the student plan rose to $6.99. This is the first increase in Apple Music subscription prices since October 2022 due to increased licensing costs. In an interview with Billboard's On the Record podcast, Apple Music vp Oliver Schusser noted that the platform is the only music streamer without a free tier and argued that such tiers lead to lower subscription prices across the board.
