Four Santa Ana Police Department officers were awarded special recognition by Fairhaven Memorial Park and Mortuary for their efforts in 2025. Officers Steven Gonzales, Jose Uriarte, Mark Rocheford, and Eliezer "Eli" Vera received Responders First Awards and certificates of recognition from Congressman Lou Correa and County Supervisor Vicente Sarmiento. Gonzales was praised for his work, attention to detail, thoroughness in investigations, and a focus on quality-of-life issues. Uriarte was noted for his involvement in gang suppression activity and firearms and narcotics violations. Vera was lauded for his proactive patrol area where he recovered over 211 grams of methamphetamine from a single investigation.
