I-80 traffic stop leads to 11-year sentence for drug trafficking

Edward Hanserd, a 63-year-old California man, has been sentenced to more than a decade in prison for drug trafficking following a 2023 traffic stop on Interstate 80 in Ohio. The Ohio State Highway Patrol stopped Hanserd's vehicle after observing erratic driving and finding no luggage or clothing in the vehicle. Authorities found 508 grams of cocaine and about two pounds of marijuana inside the vehicle during a canine search. Hanserd was later indicted on multiple charges related to drug trafficking and possession.
