The Cityplace/Uptown station in Dallas, Texas, is the only active subway station in the state, serving three DART lines. The station opened in 2000 and is undergoing a three-year revitalization project, which includes escalator upgrades, better lighting, and new ticket vending machines. The project is part of a broader initiative by DART to modernize the transit system and improve the rider experience. Despite the station's low visitor numbers, it is considered a transit-oriented development by the city of Dallas. The area surrounding the station is one of the city's densest areas with office buildings, housing, retail, hotels and access to the Katy Trail.
