War impacts Valparaiso immigrant from Iran

Pedram Etebari, an Iranian immigrant to the United States, has been unable to contact his family in Iran since the U.S. and Israel started the war against Iran. The war has resulted in increased poverty in Iran, with his sister losing her job due to lack of internet access and job as an English teacher. Despite Iran having the world's second-largest copper mine and plentiful gas, oil, and coal, Eatebari believes that 70% of Iran's population is in poverty. He also noted that the war has impacted global oil markets, with gas prices in Valparaiso at over $4 a gallon.
