Ann Norman, a former foster parent to a 5-year-old mastiff mix named Otis, experienced the pain of losing a dog again after losing her two 12-year old siblings two years earlier. Otis was rescued from a shelter by his son, where he volunteered, and after being neutered, she fell in love with him. She could not officially adopt him until he was fully recovered and made him available for adoption. Otise lived a happy life with her, calling him the "bestest dog" and telling her every day that he was.
