Antonio Marcos Valencia, a 25-year-old Concord man, has been sentenced to 11 years in prison for his role in the 2019 fatal shooting of 17-year old Mohammad Othman. Valencia, who was originally charged with murder, robbery and conspiracy, pleaded no contest to felony voluntary manslaughter and felony robbery in November. He also admitted to aggravating factors and an arming enhancement. The charges stem from a 2019 incident involving Valencia and co-defendant Ruben A. Gonzales-Magallanes, 27, who had agreed to sell marijuana to OTHman but changed their plans to rob him and his friends. The incident was described as an example of the dangers of dealing with illegal drugs. Valencia was denied probation and restitution will be determined at a later date.
