Metro has purchased a 120-acre former farm property near Oregon City for $2.4 million as part of its natural conservation efforts. The land was purchased in two phases, with 50 acres purchased for $842,150 in October 2024 and another 72 acres for $1.56 million in March. The property includes an old log cabin, built in 1920, and remnants of a historic grist mill. Public access to the property will be closed during some of the initial restoration work, which will involve heavy machinery, digging, and planting seedlings. The acquisition was funded by the 2019 parks and nature bond, which has so far been used to purchase 1,967 acres across the Portland metropolitan area.
