The Kansas City Health Department has launched a new online hub, offering mental and behavioral health resources. The hub is designed to make it easier for people to locate free, confidential mental health support. The Mental Health Hub includes several digital and self-guided support tools, including E-Prevention, an anonymous screening to help identify substance use habits, and a ‘Connections APP’ offering 24/7 recovery support. Director of Health Marvia Jones said the goal is to provide people with more real-time, short-term access to resources that will improve their mental well-being. A survey revealed that nearly 20% of people have felt isolation or depression, and about 15% are dealing with severe loneliness. The department also listed resources like crisis hotlines, mental health providers, and recovery programs.
