Kush Burman and his best mate, Jo Diop, applied for the popular TV series Race Across the World as a joke. The pair had just finished their A-Levels and planned to travel the world before deciding their next step. This series sees five teams race more than 12,000km across Europe and Asia to claim the £20,000 prize. The application was accepted in January 2025 and they were soon on a plane to the start line. Despite initially being in work, the pair were shocked to receive the call when they were told they had made the cut.
