St. Louis County man sentenced after drug deal leads to shooting death

Zechariah West, a 20-year-old man from St. Louis County, has been sentenced to 10 years in prison for the shooting death of a 16-year old boy during a drug deal several years ago. The charges were reduced from previous charges of second-degree murder to reduced charges of attempted murder and attempted robbery. West was 17 years old when prosecutors first charged him with the murder of the teenager. The shooting occurred on September 23, 2022.
