A former Biden White House security staffer, Nation Wood, is facing an involuntary manslaughter charge for allegedly firing a gun through a wall and fatally shooting his girlfriend, Samantha Emge, while she was showering. Wood told investigators that he was pulling the trigger on what he believed was an unloaded firearm inside their San Francisco apartment. The live round fired, sending a bullet through the wall and killing Emge. Wood's bail was set at $300,000. The charges carry up to four years in state prison under California law and could be extended further if prosecutors pursue a firearm enhancement.
