Chris Rock and Will Smith were known for their friendly relationship, even before the Oscars incident. The first time they met was during a 1995 episode of "The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air" where Rock played a comic named Maurice Perry. Smith was asked to take Maurice's sister out on a date as part of his duties. The two actors later reunited in 1997 for the HBO animated series "Hididan".
