Davis had been trailing in the June primary and faced significant odds, despite being declared dead last three months in the race. Despite these setbacks, Davis remained committed and benefited from a federal court ruling that allowed him to raise contributions significantly. The current campaign is different from the previous campaigns, with voters less tuned in to the governor’s race due to the media landscape's shift from newspapers to online voting.
