Air sampling recommended at Galena landfill due to foul odor

The Kansas Department of Health and Environment (KDHE) has recommended additional air sampling at a Galena landfill due to a foul odor. This comes after "subsurface smoldering" was reported at the construction and demolition portion of the landfill. The state has requested that the EPA perform on-site air monitoring.
