The White Sox's outfield is becoming more difficult due to injuries to Mike Tauchman, Austin Hays, and Dustin Harris, who were expected to compete for a position in the Mets' outfield this spring. Tauchm, who had the highest OPS of any Sox outfielder last season in his platoon role, also had surgery for a torn meniscus in his left knee late in camp. The team also announced that Brooks Baldwin had a season-ending ulnar collateral ligament procedure on his right elbow, not expected to return until spring. The Sox placed outfielder Everson Pereira on the 10-day injured list with a sprained ankle, and he hopes to be back soon. Despite this, manager Will Venable has played well in the first 11 games of the season.
