This move allows the Bucks to move Pete Nance to a standard NBA contract. Thomas had been signed by the Bucks on February 8, just days after the Nets cut ties. His tenure with the Nets was disappointing, with Thomas stating that the Nets "don't believe in nobody" and "always thought something was better".
